The Tank Normale represent the very first Tank watch designed by Cartier founder Monsieur Louis Cartier tooking inspiration, and name, from the design of the so named combat vehicle in 1917. The first Tank watches became available to public in 1919 and since then this represents one the most iconic and recognizable design for the brand.
Description and Condition Report
This example of Cartier Tank Normale is a Mk2 of the ref 78092 from early 70s. It has all the distinctive elements of a correct Mk2 as: the pointy A 70s signature, no hidden signature at 7 o’clock, short sapphire in the crown and its reference fits perfectly in the Mk2 range. It’s not easy to find an all correct example like this. The case, quite well preserved, is made of 18Kt yellow gold and measure 23x30mm. The watch is powered by a manual wind caliber 78-1.
